EVENTS OF THE HUNT, POINT, RETRIEVE BREEDS ASSOCIATION
HPRBA (proposed) Companion Dog Show
Held under KC rules and regulations.
Princes field, Abbots Bromley Road, Hoar Cross, Staffordshire.
Sunday August 9th. 2009

The Hunt Point & Retrieve Breeds Association could not have wished for a better day on which to hold its first companion dog show. Held in the shadow of the historic and rather too inviting Meynell Ingram Arms and bathed in glorious summer sunshine the attendance for the event was in excess of anything expected.

Dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes were brought along to enjoy the day from miniature dachshunds, Irish wolfhounds even a baby Alaskan Malamute. There was also a special appearance by Hoar Cross's very own 100 year young German Shepherd expert May Rose who cast her expert eye over the proceedings.

The top dog and worthy winner on the day getting Best in Show Caroline Lea's standard poodle Boozie.  Reserve Best in Show was Matt & Sallie Hunt's German Shorthaired Pointer Milo. Best Puppy in Show went to the lovely flat coated retriever Babe owned by Mrs K Perry's and Best Veteran was awarded to Diana Humpidge's GSP Tess.

The HPRBA were very privileged to have had the services of Penny Williams to make the difficult judging decisions for us as she is one of the country's leading judges as well as having the internationally renowned Bournehouse kennel, so a special thank you to her and to the many other people that helped make it such a lovely day.

The HPRBA hope to make this an annual event with more for every one to enjoy. Perhaps agility, scurries and the like have a go at in the future. Thanks must go to Challenge Nutrition, Penparc Pet Supplies and, last but not least, the Meynell for their help and support with the show.
